Did you know?

Converting to PDF is the best way to share presentations. It ensures the recipient sees exactly what you do, even if they don't have the fonts you used.

Engineering Philosophy

Every Slide. Every Shape.
Perfectly Rendered.

Presentations are complex. They contain custom fonts, intricate vector shapes, transparencies, and master slide layouts. Most online converters fail here, often shifting text or losing images.

We take a different approach. Instead of simple parsing libraries, we spawn a headless instance of LibreOffice—a powerful open-source office suite—to render your files. This engine understands Microsoft PowerPoint formats (`.pptx`, `.ppt`) natively.

The result? A PDF that looks exactly like your slides would if you hit "Print" in PowerPoint.

Built for Design Consistency

Slide Layouts

Masters, placeholders, and backgrounds are preserved intact.

Vector Shapes

Smart Art and custom shapes remain sharp vector graphics.

One Slide = One Page

Standardized PDF pagination automatically.

Why Convert PPTX to PDF?

PowerPoint is the standard for presentations, but it's not always ideal for sharing. Formatting can shift between Windows and Mac, fonts might be missing, and file sizes can be huge.

A PDF (Portable Document Format) freezes your presentation in time. It flattens layers, embeds fonts, and ensures that your slides look professional on any device—be it a smartphone, tablet, or projector.

Handling Animations & Transitions

One important note about converting presentations to PDF: PDF is a static document format. This means:

  • Animations: Effects like "Fade In" or "Fly In" are flattened. All elements will appear on the page simultaneously.
  • Transitions: Slide transitions are removed.
  • Media: Embedded videos or audio clips will appear as static placeholder images.

This is actually a benefit for handouts, printing, and archival purposes, as it creates a clear, readable document.

Tips for Best Results

  • Embed Fonts: In PowerPoint, go to Options > Save > Embed fonts in the file. This ensures your custom typography is preserved.
  • Standard Aspect Ratios: Use standard 16:9 or 4:3 slide sizes to avoid white borders on the PDF pages.
  • Flatten Images: If you have very complex layered images, consider grouping them or saving them as a single picture in PowerPoint before converting.

Key Terminology

PPTX

The modern PowerPoint format (Office 2007+). Uses XML structure for smaller file sizes.

Master Slide

The template that creates the background and layout. We preserve this in the PDF background.

Vector Graphics

Shapes defined by math (like fonts and icons). Our converter keeps them sharp.

Aspect Ratio

The width-to-height ratio (e.g., 16:9 or 4:3). The PDF pages will match your slide dimensions.

Common Questions

What happens to my animations?
Since PDF is a static format, all animations are flattened. This means all elements that would normally fly in will appear on the page at once. It's the standard for printed presentations.
Are speaker notes included?
By default, we convert the slides themselves. If you need speaker notes, you usually need to change print settings in PowerPoint itself first.
Does it support custom fonts?
We support most standard fonts. If you use very specific custom fonts, they will be substituted with the closest matching font to ensure readability.
Is my presentation kept private?
Yes. We do not store your files. They are uploaded to a temporary processing server and deleted immediately after the PDF is generated.
