Understanding RAW Files
A **RAW file** contains the unprocessed sensor data from a digital camera. It's often called a "digital negative" because, like a film negative, it holds all the information captured by the camera but isn't a usable image yet.
Formats vary by manufacturer: Canon uses **.CR2/CR3**, Nikon uses **.NEF**, Sony uses **.ARW**. While these formats offer maximum editing flexibility, they are huge and can't be viewed on most standard devices.
Converting to **JPG** transforms this data into a universally viewable image. Our tool acts as the "developer", interpreting the raw data and baking it into a high-quality picture that you can share, print, or publish instantly.
