WAV vs MP3: Why Convert?
WAV (Waveform Audio File Format) is an uncompressed audio format. It contains raw audio data, which means it offers the highest possible quality but results in massive file sizes (around 10MB per minute of audio).
MP3 (MPEG-1 Audio Layer III) is a compressed format. It uses smart algorithms to discard data that is less audible to the human ear. A 320kbps MP3 file uses only about 2.4MB per minute, making it much easier to share via email, upload to websites, or store on your phone.
